Lecturer 6

Lee Sullivan

Preparing students for a physically active life through physical education is Lee’s ‘why’ and this value was the main motivation for creating the concept-driven curriculum and writing 'Is PE in Crisis? Leading Meaningful Change in Physical Education'. Currently a Head of Department and formerly a pastoral Leader, Lee grew frustrated with a PE curriculum focused on sport and performance. Lee realized that a curriculum obsessed with sporting ability was not only failing to meet the needs of most students, but it was also putting them off physical activity altogether. He knew PE had the power to be so much more. Lee is passionate about creating positive experiences in PE that genuinely nurture physical literacy, get kids active for sustained periods of time, develop competence and build positive relationships with PE, physical activity, and sport..
